There is no difference between PVRs and DVRs. In fact, for
marketing and other reasons, PVRs are referred to by many names:
- coaxial cable TV digital video recorder (CCTV DVR)
- digital video recorder (DVR)
- DVD/HDD recorder
- hard disk recorder (HDR)
- personal TV receiver (PTR)
- personal video station (PVS)
Rather than worrying about names, focus on features. Know what
features are available, which ones are important to you
and what your budget will allow. You can then select the product that best suits your
needs.
