PVR Networking

The ability to share audio video recordings across different devices in a home is becoming increasingly important to consumers.  Consumers want to edit their photos and home videos on their computers and then have the ability to view them on a large screen TV in a different room.  Similarly, a person might want to watch a recording of a football game that is stored on a PVR in one room, while working at a computer in a different room.

The ability to network audio video devices in different locations requires special networking capabilities.  USB ports are too slow for high-quality digital recordings.  Manufacturers are therefore looking for better networking options.
